SPACE CONGRESS
HISPASAT was a sponsor and member of the organizing committee of the Space Congress, held in Madrid on October 9 and 10, 2019 and promoted by TEDAE (Spanish Association of Defense, Security, Aeronautical and Space Technology Companies).
The congress brought together almost 600 professionals and researchers from the national and European space sector to debate, at the hands of speakers at the highest level, on the future challenges of national and European space activity.
The debates and presentations of this first edition of the congress highlighted the strategic nature of the aerospace sector in Spain, as well as its contribution to the progress of society and its role as an economic and innovation engine for our country, outlining the challenges and challenges to the ones you will have to face in the future.
HISPASAT moderated the table on The satellite, key to extend connectivity and development, in which the satellite was discussed as a fundamental element to bring connectivity to rural or remote areas and guarantee universal access to the Information Society.
SCHOOL OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERING
This year, HISPASAT participated in the awards ceremony for young engineers that the Official School of Telecommunications Engineers awards to the best doctoral and bachelor’s theses, while also sponsoring two of the awards. HISPASAT participated in a technical table organized by the COIT which discussed mobility and the autonomous car.
MÁLAGA 4K FEST
HISPASAT is a sponsor of the Malaga 4k Fest, the short film competition recorded and post-produced with 4K technology. In it, the company delivered the award for the artistic director of Gumüs, the Turkish short film that won the award.
SUMMER COURSES OF EL ESCORIAL
HISPASAT has collaborated one more year with the Complutense University providing the technological solution that allows the transmission of television signals via a satellite link. This service can be used by the information services and television programs that so wish to send the images and news of the current events of the courses, carried out and distributed by the producer of the Complutense University (UCMTV). This service It is carried out through the Hispasat 30W-6 satellite.
SPANISH RUGBY FEDERATION
HISPASAT continued to sponsor the Spanish Rugby Federation this year by broadcasting international matches played in Spain via satellite for both men’s and women’s national teams, as well as the finals of the main tournaments on the mainland.
V CENTENARY OF THE FIRST ROUND-THE-WORLD TRIP
In 2019, HISPASAT signed an agreement with the Association of Friends of Great Navigators and Spanish Explorers to collaborate on their project “500 years later. In the wake of J.S. Elcano”, with which they commemorate the centenary of the first round the world replicating that historic circumnavigation. The operator is committed to providing space capacity for the connectivity of the ship through the satellites of its fleet in all coverage areas where it navigates. Satellites are the only infrastructure that can facilitate mobile telecommunications in the maritime environment, where it is not possible to have terrestrial communication networks.
