NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN THE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES PORTFOLIO

In addition to Internet access services (classic and VNO), in this market HISPASAT offers the following services:

1 REMOTE CONTROL AND TELEMETRY


HISPASAT offers telemetry systems that enable remote measurement of physical quantities, and subsequently sends information to the system operator.

2 MOBILITY


Space-capacity services for mobility are divided into three main groups in relation to each one's market goals:

  • > Maritime: for commercial vessels, fishing boats, oil platforms, etc.
  • > Terrestrial: Trains, buses and other ground transport.
  • > Aeronautical: Commercial and military airplanes, UAVs and helicopters.

In each market the use of space capacity is varied: Internet access services, corporate services, voice, video, emergency communications, telemetry and remote control are some of the most common cases.

This service can be offered in VNO mode for rail and maritime markets.

3 GO MOBILE


To complement the VNO platform for mobility services, HISPASAT, along with several strategic partners, has developed Go Mobile, an advanced platform including different services oriented towards train and commercial vessel operators that require a "turnkey" product with a complete service proposal:

  • Internet Access

    Combined with other 3G technologies if available (in trains, for example).

  • VoD

    Video on Demand, stored on internal servers that are updated periodically.

  • Multicast Video

    TV channels broadcasted via satellite, in IP to be distributed to passengers.

  • Voice

    Cellular Backhaul and mobility. Different solutions based on the scenario (terrestrial, maritime).

  • Corporate and security services

    Emergency networks, corporate VPNs, etc.

  • Services portal

    Enables access, payment and management of content by end users.

Due to the conditions of mobility, this service has more complex requirements. Its requirements for development are:

  • A platform with satellite connectivity

    Enables a connection from transport means (train, ship) to the client's Internet, telephone or corporate network.

  • Video-on-Demand platform

    Comprises the installation of servers on board that provide content to the user.

  • Multicast video platform

    A system that codes and multiplexes backend TV channels. Transmission is done using HISPASAT's broadband platform.

  • Voice communications platform

    It includes cellular backhauling with 3G small-cells on board and it is connected to the 3G core network using the HISPASAT broadband platform.

  • Distribution system on board

    Internet content on board can use cable or Wi-Fi distribution systems, or a combination of both. The technical solution conditions capacity and services to be provided.

  • Services portal

    Portal software developed for access to content, management and payments if necessary. It includes hardware on board equipment.
